Title: "Geese in the Garden? Must be Minnesota!"

Although Robyn and I have been needlewomen our whole lives, we both began quilting around 2000. I met Robyn when we both worked on a magazine in 1990. Although we only worked together for a few weeks, our friendship has lasted for 14 years and across many miles! I have watched her first daughter, Tabatha, grow up to be a fine young woman and mother of two; and have rejoiced as Robyn and her husband, Doug, welcomed their second and third daughters, Camryn and Lauryn, into their lives. I was honored to be one of the witnesses at their small, private wedding. When I moved to Minnesota to take a job in 1995, Robyn was the only person I knew there. (We met regularly to lament the lack of really, really good Mexican restaurants.) To say that Robyn and I have been intertwined in each other's lives is an understatement!

I have been the recipient of some cool things Robyn has made, like a small knitted handbag and the most amazing socks. I wanted to give her a garden-themed wallhanging, because the only thing Robyn loves to do as much as quilt is spend time in her garden.

The title comes from the garden theme, of course, and the fact that Canada geese are all over Minnesota.  They used to attack me when I left my apartment in the Twin Cities, and their bright-green goose poop was everywhere!

I used Eleanor Burns's (Quilt-in-a-Day) speed method of producing geese, and her geese ruler.
